PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Thinking About taking the Plunge

Thinking About taking the Plunge

This is a pic of me taking my short layers forward to make it look like short hair ...

So, I've been wanting to cut my hair for, oh ... a year or so now?

I have no big events or anything in the next few months, so if it looks jackedup.com (grits' signature word) then I can always let it grow out, right?

Here is my beef with my hair, it's too long, takes way too long to dry, and has absolutely no body or volume. I feel like I would be able to do more with a shorter haircut. I'm not talking short short, just below the shoulders.

What do you all think?

Go for it! I love short hair. I have a stacked bob right now and love it. My hair has so much more body when its shorter.

You looked very pretty in those old photos you posted last week with the shoulder length hair, so why not?! I think you look good either way!

BTW--the J Crew white cropped matchstick jean & the overdyed cropped matchstick jean fit great too (for slim figures), and they are both on sale right now! I took the same size as my SFAM jeans.

Do it!! I cut 6 inches off mine after my wedding and it was such a good decision! It takes no time to dry now. Your hair would look so cute short!

I personally am a huge fan of the Bob. Mine is just above the shoulder (one length) and I LOVE it. I used to have SUPER long hair, but got tired of it. With this length you can put it up still, braid it, and just wear it down. I'm a fan...do it if you want, you might just be surprised at how much you like it :)

i would go for it. hair always grows back. and its better to occasionally regret a bad haircut then to get stuck in a route and never change it up. i have this fear i will never change my look and not realize i am looking dated.

Would be great to beat the summer heat! But beware the post-wedding urge to chop off all your hair... I've heard of people doing that and missing their long locks afterwords, but you could totally rock some shorter hair!!!

I think it would look great. Only thing, I also have hair with not a lot of body or volume and when I cut it short it just seems to hang there. Which I hate. From your pictures I think you have a lot more hair than I do so I don't know if you'd have the same issue. I say do it. It's just hair and will grow back right?!!

Go for it! It will grow back if you don't like it! :)

Do it! I think it would look really cute. I am counting down the days until after my wedding next year when I can chop my hair off.

Tigi S Factor Plumping Booster Spray and or Osis Dust It or GHD Fat Hair lotion will solve the long hair volume issue.

(Osis Dust It, however, is sticky...)

But if you're a big hair gal in south, spray the Tigi S Factor Plumping Booster Spray at the roots of your crown, blow dry your hair forward, not upside down, just forward so the cuticle is manipulated forward so when you flip it back, it "voluminizes."

Then tease the crown a little (not a la Dolly Parton)

I am so with you on the long hair dilemma, I had long hair to the middle of my back then chopped it off in an A-line Bob a la Posh Spice...and cried for two weeks. I have since been growing it out and will never cut my hair again.

BUT that is just my opinion!

I definitely think you should do it. It looks good on you and if you hate it, it will be grown out in time for the holidays!

Go for it!!! If I could go short I totally would but I've got that wavy/curly hair that can not rock the short.

I say go for it! I want to cut mine so bad because mine has no volume or body to it. Your hair always looks so healthy and full of volume! It's a great time to cut it because it's so hot!

Does your hair grow quickly? If so I think you should absolutely give this a try. Very chic. You could pull anything off, even a mullet, ok not a mullet. : )

I cut my after the wedding, and I'm SO happy that I've done so! It is so nice to be able to do something with my hair now!

Go for it! I love it shorter. So cute.

Cut it! I cut 8 inches off my hair after I got married and my short cutesy bob is something that people say fits my personality even better!!! i have kept it short now for almost 2 years and i LOVE it!!!!

I think it would be QUITE cute on you. But...sorry, I'm a long hair fan. Not that there is anything wrong with short styles - they def. have more "style" and are easier to take care of {most of the time}. I'm sure whatever you choose will be positively lovely!
