Pleated clothing items are very reminiscent of the early 80's when women would wear long pleated skirts. If I recall my Mom still rocked pleated skirts in the late 80's and early 90's. Shout out to Mom's sweet late 80's fashion:

You have to be sooooo tiny and thin to pull off pleats!! You could do it. Your mom did it. Me? Hell no! Seriously the look can add 10 pounds.

Pleats are tricky. They can be very unflattering and messy if they don't sit just right. Love them on a maxi or midi skirt, but I don't dig em on top.
