PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Back to the Grind

Back to the Grind

Today marks the first real week after the Holidays.  I always think January and February are such "blah" months.  I feel like hibernating and it's hard to get me out in the cold, so I tend to just be a homebody.  One of my new year's resolutions was to get out more, so hopefully I won't let the January blues get to me!

This weekend I went on my twice yearly mission to Joseph's 75% off Apparel sale.  I scored a DvF dress and this Chanel-esque Malene Birger jacket for super-cheap.

I can't wait to wear the jacket with some jeans and booties.

So, I don't ever really talk about decorating because honestly I have no interest in interior design, but lately I have had the itch to redecorate my house.  When we bought our house almost 5 years ago I hastily picked the most obnoxious paint colors ever without much thought.  I am really wanting to just have consistent colors throughout the whole house and would love to get everything a light neutral color and start from there.

Here are some random pictures of little parts of my home.  I am obsessed with gold.  I love gold ornate mirrors and furniture, however I don't have much in my house.

Here are some pictures of rooms that I LOVE that I found online.

I guess the part that stresses me out the most is just where to even begin.  Interior decorating stresses me out to the max.  Any suggestions?

Happy Monday, friends!

Very cute finds!
As far as decorating, I would repaint the walls neutral colors. Then, take down any decor that you don't love. That will help to have a clean palette to start with.
I love all those gold mirrors!

Love the DVF dress!! Can you believe I've still never been to Joseph's?! I love all the white gold and mint in the inspiration photos. Just pick a small area and tackle it one at a time. Entryway, guest bath, dining area, etc.

I love your goodies from Josephs. As far as redecorating I would make a vision board. Cut out pictures of what you like and pin them on a corkboard. Then you can see what you like.

Good luck,

Stacy Blaise

I think decorating-wise, it is great to use Pinterest to figure out colors and how they look with the furniture you already have! But that is just my opinion. I do love your taste - I am a fan of gold and brass hardware, too.
