PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: TGIF

TGIF

I wanted to talk about a few samples that I got this week at Sephora.
First, the Korres cheek stain and lip butter are amazing!  I got these on a whim because I was out-of-town and totally forgot any sort of lipstick or lip color.  I love this lip butter because it's very moisturizing but also gives a good color.  The cheek stain is great because it's easy to just put it on over moisturizer for a pop of color without having to put on a lot of makeup.

The Ole Henriksen Truth Serum was a random beauty gift from Sephora that I've been using all week.  I like it a lot because it's a good serum to put under a good thick winter moisturizer without being too heavy.  Do any of you all use this?

Since it's that time of the year where it's too soon to wear spring clothes but everyone is sick of winter clothes, I've decided to wear all black in protest.  I love the following all black outfits on these celebs via Daily Mail.

You just can't go wrong with all black.

I'm already thinking about spring shoes since I have a 150 dollar gift card to Saks that I have yet to use.  I think I am going to save it for a pair of spring shoes.

I really want to pull the trigger on these Valentino RockStud sandals that I've wanted forever:

As J-Lo shows, they can be worn with dresses, jeans, and all kinds of summer staples!

Last week I watched the documentary, "The Queen of Versailles", and I can't recommend it enough to you all.  It was a very bizarre and fascinating look into a multi-millionaire family in Florida building the largest home in America, but their efforts are frozen when the financial crisis of 2008 occurs.  This documentary shows how they must sell their assets and foreclose on their palatial estate that they've almost finished building.  Like I said before, you need to watch!!!!

Have any of you all seen this?

Have a great weekend, friends!

Ohhh I am going to watch The Queen of Versailles"...I just love a good documentary. I am not going to lie, when I first saw the post I thought it was going to be about the castle in Versailles, KY.

Did you end up really liking her through the doc? I was surprised that I did.

I JUST watched this last weekend (while doing my taxes, which felt ironic). I agree that it was fascinating, and per the above commenter, I did like her more as the doc went on.

I have been using Ole Henriksen Truth Serum since about June. I love it.

I've used the Truth Serum. I liked it, but it wasn't anything special. i didn't repurchase it. And I saw the documentary too! The husband kind of creeped me out, but it was an interesting perspective into their world.

i've used that serum for a couple years and i LOVE it. it's pricey, but worth the investment.

I've been using the Truth Serum for about a year ( it's just lasted that long), but I won't repurchase. I can't see any benefits to it. I do like the smell tough...

I've used the truth serum for a few years, and I love it all times of year. I use it the AM only and use something more heavy duty at night. The vitamin C helps protect from free radicals and helps with light exfoliation.

Ok I HAVE to comment about the Queen of Versailles documentary - so captivating! My family has a time-share property from their company that we have been using to vacation at Disney World since I was born (it is much more fun than it sounds, I swear), so it was amazing seeing this family's "struggles". I about died when she said something along the lines that she wouldn't have had so many kids if she knew they weren't each going to have their own Nanny... say WHAT girlfriend!?

I started using the Truth Serum when I got in a GlossyBox a while back and din't realize how much I loved it until I stopped using it! It doesn't give a dramatic change but I found it make my skin look less dull and much brighter! It's my favorite morning serum

I watched the QofV and it is so good. Totally mesmerizing and the family, especially the wife are just so mesmerizing. I didn't think it was a documentary at first, but a scripted movie. Either way, def interesting!

I live in this area of town and I used to see her quite often at our boys' basketball games. She was quite the spectacle with all the kids and nannies. We looked at several houses in that neighborhood, there is actually quite a range in house prices. But the "palace" is on a beautiful lake that is part of an interconnected chain of lakes. The neighborhood is a little out of the way for me and honestly if I had a nanny for every child, I would have had three more!

Argh! Left a comment and then received an error message!

You're too funny! I'm actually resisting the all black look because that was my uniform up until a couple of years ago. However, lately, I've been thinking about wearing all black again so have been hunting around for black jumper, black tops etc etc.

I listened to an interview on NPR last year with the QofV filmmaker and totally forgot about it. I need to make a point to rent it, because I remember it sounding completely fascinating!
