PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Overwhelmed ...

Overwhelmed ...

So ... I feel like A LOT has happened this past week!

1) I had an appointment today at Joseph during their Trish McEvoy show, in which they brought in a National Trish team of artists and esticians to give you a serious make-up and skin care makeover. I could not be happier with my new fall look! My "artist" was awesome and I feel all done over for fall. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Trish McEvoy products? I now have her make-up planner and all the pages are full of shadows, blushes, and various other goodies. Plus, I got her new fragrance, "Trish" which smells LOVELY!

2) R and I officially have a house! It will need a little work, but I am pretty obsessed with it. I also LOVE our new 'hood. For all my Lextonians out there, it is similar to the "Chevy Chase" area of Lexington. Lots of cute and adorable old houses.

3) WEDDING PLANNING ... y'all , PIPM may seem like she's got things planned out, but when it comes to a wedding I NEED HELP. I have no idea where to start or where I want to have it. I am thinking June or July of next year, so I need to get to movin'! Should I do destination in Florida or Memphis wedding? DECISIONS!

4) DECORATING- I also need help here. I am NOT a decorator by any means. I have no idea what goes with what when it comes to decorating a house. If it were all up to me we would have PINK AND GREEN everywhere, but I know that won't happen. What are some of y'alls ideas for decorating?

5) Who knew furniture was so expensive ... GEEZ! I mean, is it bad that I'd rather have a YSL bag than a couch? SERIOUSLY!

Engagement story will be SUNDAY'S post , so stay tuned :-)

What fun you have ahead Miss PIPM, yes you do! (Seriously, we aren't being sarcastic.) Three thoughts on staying sane while planning one's big day:

1) If at all possible, hire the best Wedding Planner you can find. The money you invest up front will save your sanity.

2) Buy yourself a wedding calendar/planner that you like, that you think will work the best for you. It will become your bible. Or, find one online that you like and print it out.

3) Use some of the resources available at sites like TheKnot.com. The websites are overflowing with great ideas and tips based on real-life experiences and can be a fount of information.

You want to have fun doing this, not go through a nervous breakdown, so enjoy!

You are gonna' be one beautiful bride.

I agree with Prissy Southern Prep...theknot.com is awesome and saved me a lot of time. The only other piece of advice I can offer is to:

a. Make sure you know what specific pictures you want for your wedding day. I failed to get a shot of the train of my dress. I had to go and have pictures done several months after the wedding to fix this.

b. Make sure your florist knows exactly what you want. I thought my did, but when she showed up with my bouquet it was red roses and white daiseys...I paid for red and white roses.

Other than that, have fun and remember to enjoy your big day! It goes by so fast! :)

First, congrats congrats congrats. You have so many wonderful things happening at once! I am of the thought of doing a destination wedding. My bf and I have talked about actually getting married in Vegas when we are there over St. Pat's. Crazy, I know....but all the planning....it just stresses me out to think of it all! I can't wait to see new pics of your house! I always love going to this blog: http://absolutelybeautifulthings.blogspot.com/
It should give you some good decorating ideas.

Get a vision and stick to it. Once you have a clear idea of the color scheme, location and how formal, it is relatively easy. And the dress is going to play alot into the grand scheme in my opinion.

The one thing I have seen my friends do and then be disappointed is not make decisions and waffle to much.
