I am definitely an early to bed type of girl. On most nights, I am asleep by 9:30 pm. About once or twice a week I will fall asleep at 9 pm. Here lately, I fall asleep at 9 pm and wake up around 2 or 3 am wide awake. Tonight was one of those nights. It is now 3:09 am and I have already been up, made a bowl of cereal, and am now trolling the internet because there is nothing else to do at 3 am. Does this ever happen to anyone else? And don't think I'm going back to sleep ... I will just stay up. I am almost wondering if I need some sort of sleeping medication? This happened on Saturday night, hence the million items that were listed on ebay. Weird.
All the pups got their summer haircuts today. I was very pleased because their hair was getting too long and they were getting hot on their daily walks.

beautiful dogs! i think you are having some difficulty sleeping because of your upcoming wedding....i wake up at 2am too, but i'm in the hotflash stage of life! your mind is full of thoughts and won't shut off....it will pass-hopefully!?
They look so cute~ I love Miss P's bow! :)
This happens to me all the time, too! I tried some unisom, and it was even worse. I was awake, but had a hard time connecting thoughts to actions, so weird. Do you ever nap during the day? If so, try stopping that or just nap for like 20 minutes. Keep working out...you will sleep better...definitely wedding related stress keeping you up!
Sweet Dreams!
I haven't been sleeping well lately either. I'll just lay in bed for more than an hour and not be able to fall asleep. I think I'm just going to get some tylenol pm.
this happened to me a couple of months ago. I made a new rule for myself no more falling asleep to the TV and if I am going to get into bed I need to be ready to fall asleep and I can read for a little but that's it. It's definitely helped. Also, I would force myself to stay up a little later.
You should try taking Melatonin before you go to bed. It's an all natural supplement that helps you wind down and sleep through the night (you can get it at GNC or any vitamin/supplement store). It is wonderful! If you’re feeling adventurous there is a new drink out called "Drank" it is supposed to be the opposite of Red Bull and boasts a "Slow Your Roll" slogan. Hehe! It has melatonin and some other calming supplements. I haven't tried it yet, but I hear it works!
I had terrible insomnia for about a year. I took rx meds, but I think it made things worse. Falling asleep early, or at least at varying times, make sleeping more difficult. Always best to have a strict routine every night so your body gets used to falling asleep and staying asleep. Good luck, I hope it gets better!
Megan- I think you probably just have a lot going through your mind with showers, bach party, wedding etc. This happened to me a lot last year. Did you try not drinking caffeine after noon? Thats what I did and it worked!
See you soon!

Hey Megan:
You need to try Melatonin. It is natural and I love it. My husband is a veterinarian and opening a new a hospital. He works until 1:00 or 2:00am. I can never sleep, but since taking this med I have done a lot better. I am like you; I go to bed very early. This medication has made me sleep a little later. Also, my precious dog, Sadie, had to be put to sleep last week. I saw where you adopt the sweet Brussles. Can you give me some contact info. I think I would like one. How are they with children. I have Hattie (3) and Lilly Daniel (1). thanks
Awww, the pups are adorable!
Hi Catherine! For some reason it won't let me comment on your blog. Yes, our dogs are very good with children. They are such sweet dogs. Check out the rescue website to see the available ones:

let me know what you think :)
Look at precious Apple. She's saying "Where's my other mommy?" HAHA
sooo cute!
I am often asleep by 9 or 9:30 and as you and awake by 3 a.m. with my mind racing. Occasionally I take Tylenol PM when it happens day after day. Someone suggested Benedryl, but that makes me too groggy when I wake up.
