First of all, contrary to what you might think, the higher the platform on the bottom of the shoe and the thicker the heel itself, the more comfortable the shoe. This little fact surprised me:
Many of my heels have a skinny little heel and absolutely no platform, hence why they are so uncomfortable. Having a skinny heel gives no support to hold up your foot.
Another solution to my high heel problem are heel inserts. I love wearing inserts to give a little cushioning to your feet.
Together, friends, we can make heels bearable! HA!

i love heels! they make every outfit look better! :)
love platform heels. Platform is the way to go...looks stylish yet does not sacrifice comfort.
this reminds me of what victoria beckham says about heels in the march 2010 glamour magazine:
"Absolutely they hurt. Absolutely! I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident."
happy to see that your love of heels will persevere!
I wear the high heel inserts in all my heels! I love my heels and that just make them comfortable to wear!
Hey girl! I know that normally your taste in heels is more on the designer end...BUT. I have to say....Nine West makes the most comfortable shoes in the world! I swear by their pumps! I work at a restaurant where I have to wear heels for 5hrs straight (without sitting down) and I Nine West are the best! :)
Ps..love LOVE Design Darling's quote from Posh!! ;)
So true! I love heels, but they are not always the most comfortable.
I never wear heels. My friend is getting married next month and she chose super high shoes for us to wear. I never thought to get inserts - great idea!
So true. And don't discount wedges! Also great!!!I love my heels but reserve them most of the time for special shorter outings like dinner... just can't wear most of them all day. Welcome back to Heels PIPM!!!
You're so right! It's way more comfy to put on a pair of platforms to a pair with nothing but a cardboard's width between your precious piggies and the concrete.
I'm with you, I need to start wearing heels and move away from my flats... my husband will appreciate the example you're setting.
and try the brand sofft!! i am in love with that brand, because it is unbelievably comfortable, and they're shoes are getting cuter and cuter each season!
I love heels and wedges. Wore them my entire pregnancy. But, alas, I now am in my TB "mom flats." haha
I look at my heels in my closet and can't wait for a night out with the hubs to be able to wear them.
One tip I was also given by an SA is that depending on where the heel actually sits on the shoe, is how much/little you will be able to wear it. The more the heel sits under your actual foot pad, the better the shoe. So you don't want the heel at the end of the shoe, you want it more inside. :)
I get a lot of pain in the balls of my feet because I DO NOT shift my weight to my heels while wearing heels because it makes me feel way too unstable so I wear gel inserts on the balls of my feet and they help tremendously.
My Mom loves those inserts. I need to steal some from her and try them!
I always see celebrities on the red carpet wearing platform heels, and now I know why! Thanks for the tips!
What's even better than a platform heel is a wedge! Now talk about comfortable height! :)
I LOVE heels!!! I'm extremely tall and i still believe the higher the heel the better!! I just don't feel pretty without heels!! I always feel frumpy with flats on!! One brand that I find extremely comfortable is Carlos Santana and they are VERY reasonably priced!! I have pretty much a "collection" of his shoes and everytime I walk out of the house with them on i get compliments on my shoes! I've even had some people try to buy the shoes off my feet!!! I let my mom borrow a pair for a wedding she went to and she NEVER wears a high heel... she just LOVED them and tried to keep them!!! She said it was the most comfortable shoe she has ever worn!!!
i love heels too and i was having the same problem.. but id bare with it just to wear the cute heel!!! i have bought those inserts and sometimes my feet still hurt!! ughhhh
