PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Vegas Vacation

Vegas Vacation

Just when we thought we were going to skip the whole 1 year anniversary trip we decided on LAS VEGAS! With the fabulous shopping, restaurants, pools, and weather, it's a win-win situation! Plus we've both never been before, so this will be a first!

Our flight was totally free and now we're just trying to decide on a hotel. So far the contenders are the Bellagio, Wynn, Mandarin Oriental, and Vdara. Any recommendations?

Also, we're thinking Tao and Nobu for sure, but any other restaurant recommendations?

I definitely recommend staying on the strip so the Wynn or Bellagio would be good for that. I also recommend seeing Beatles LOVE show it was amazing!!! We had dinner at Strip Steak at Mandalay Bay which was also amazing!!

I def recommend The Wynn, and Mandalay Bay. The Palms is also very nice too. We are going to Aruba for our 1 year Anniversary. Cannot wait!

We went to Vegas for our first year anniversary trip (plus California) and it was wonderful!

I love Wynn but hear Mandarin Oriental is pretty fabulous. We had a great anniversary dinner at Olive's at Bellagio on the patio watching the fountains. Picture perfect.

How fun! We've talked about making a trip out to Vegas with some friends. I've been before with my family, but he's never been.

I recommend the Bellagio or the Wynn. Both are beautiful. The champagne brunch at Bellagio is amazing. I am getting married in Las Vegas in May!

so. much. fun!! i LOVE vegas. i would recommend either the wynn (my favorite) or the bellagio. mandarin is lovely, but it's not on the strip. and i haven't been since citycenter opened, so i can't vouch for vdara. i adore vegas and have been several times, so e-mail me if you'd like any recommendations :)

i think bellagio would be your best bet due to proximity to great shopping (next to ceaser's which has the amazing forum shops) and directly across from venetian which has amazing shopping and great restaurants!

I agree with the first comment. You HAVE to go see LOVE. It was wonderful. I also went to the Mario Batalli restaurant (I can't remember if it was Bellagio or Venetian) and it was great.
Have fun!

When I went for the Miss America pageant a few years back, we stayed at Planet Hollywood and it was pretty awesome. All of the rooms have been renovated and they are totally hip and modern. We ate at Nine Steakhouse (N9NE) and saw some celebs too!

The Wynn is great, but the Bellagio is in a more central location on the strip. Have fun!

I recommend the Wynn. But did you think about staying at the Palazzo? SUPER nice! Plus that is where Barney's is located. I used to travel to Vegas 2 times a month. It is a fun town. Tao is great and has a great night club. But i would say Lavo is a new hit place to be.

How exciting! We want to go sometime soon so I'm excited to hear about your trip and where you stay, etc!

The Venetian or Palazzo are also very nice for accommodations. If you enjoy sushi, Treasure Island has a great sushi place. And I def recommend going to see a Cirque du Soleil show while there.

Simon is pretty delish too, but Nobu and Tao are definites. You'll have a great time!

Bellagio is hands down the most glamorous, in my opinion! It has those beautiful fountains in front of it (from Ocean's 11) and it's located close to everything. You will love it! The shops at Ceasers will be right up your alley, so bring your wallet for sure! The best part about LV, to me, is just walking up and down the strip - the colors of all of the lights are awesome! Have fun!

How fun! We go to LV 2-3 times per year and never tire of it. I highly recommend the Wynn, but its sister hotel, Wynn Encore, is even better in my opinion. Bellagio is more centrally located, and is very nice, but you can always take a cab from Wynn or Encore to wherever you need to go.

Stay at the Wynn! It is fantastic! Tao is great - Nobu is pricey for what you get. You are going to have so much fun and the shopping is INCREDIBLE!!!

The Wynn is beautiful. You are going to have such a great time. I love Vegas.

We were just there last week. I recommend any where in CityCenter so Mandarin Oriental or Aria. LOVED IT! We also ate at Tao and it was good but think it is over rated and now just another casual dinning place that everyone goes too. We were surprised how casual everyone was now and all the bach parties and baby carriages (random) at dinner.
Our two new places we liked were Beso at Crystal's (yes it is Eva L's rest. but super trendy and yummy apps and predrinks) and Sage at Aria both in CityCenter. My other fave is MIX at TheHotel, amazing views and great food and atmosphere. Have fun and can not wait for pictures.

Highly recommend the Bellagio - such an icon for your first Vegas trip. Try the King Crab tempura in their Yellowtail restaurant - tdf!

I think vegas is a perfect one year anniversary spot, I've never been...but many of my friends go there for their one year! My girlfriend can't stop raving about Tao, so you must go there for sure.

I just got back from Vegas yesterday and I stayed at the Encore (the newer hotel at the Wynn)...it was AMAZING. I can't say one bad word about it except the location was a little decentralized from the rest of the strip (but if you don't mind paying a 10 dollar cab fare (which includes tip), then you're set and you don't have to walk much. Vdara was pretty nice, but I was a bit underwhelmed (i think they have alot of construction to still do there). Bellagio is nice and in a good location. If you're at Encore/Wynn, try the restaurant "Switch". All of the restaurants at the hotels you mentioned are top notch and superb...so i doubt food will be an issue! i def think you should look at the palazzo as an option! its amazing as well! have fun!

N9NE steakhouse at the Palms has the BEST food I've ever eaten... and the first time we went, our table was 2 down from Xzibit (the Pimp my Ride host). Also, the Cirque de Soleil O at the Bellagio is supposed to be the best Cirque show. We have been to Vegas SEVERAL times, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)

I rec Wynn Encore or Bellagio! I don't think you can go wrong with either :)

Bellagio is amazing! We just went in August..I almost cried when I had to leave the hotel!

The pool at the Mandalay Bay is the best! Also, love to eat at Rumjungle at the Mandalay Bay and Dos Caminos at the Pallazzo. Have a blast!

Unknown said...

The Palms Hotel is off the main strip and so it The Wynn, I think. Bellagio is right there (across from the big mall) and lots of resturants close by. No need to rent a car...we walked everywhere. You def. want to make sure you stay somewhere on the main strip. We stayed at MGM...it was amazing. Paris and Luxor were right there but if we ever go back, we're staying at Bellagio.

I definitely agree that the Bellagio is the best for location. Plus, it is just gorgeous!! I've never stayed at The Wynn, but it is really pretty and is a short cab ride down the strip to shopping, etc. I also recommend TheHotel at Mandalay Bay.

Vegas is a blast. You're going to have a ton of fun!!

I have never been to Vegas either, so I don't have any fab suggestions to contribute...dang it! So glad that y'all are celebrating with a trip...it will be so much fun!!

There's an Italian restaurant in Caesar's Palace that's AMAZING and pretty famous too... can't remember the name of it, but someone who's been a lot would know... maybe MBR?

I have only been inside the Wynn and the Belagio out of your choices... I'd skip the Bellagio... it looks all 70's and a bit tacky like Mrs. Roper from Three's Company got all over it! Think 70's crushed velvet psychadelic couch with hanging gardens... I wasn't impressed, though I do know some who will ONLY stay there. But the Wynn is pretty new and GORGEOUS!!!

Sounds amazing! I can't wait to drive to Vegas next year when we live in Arizona. Take lots of pics!

How fun! The Wynn or Encore get my vote. I prefer it over the Venetian, Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. The Bellagio has a amazing buffet though. The desserts are delicious.

We are staying at the Wynn Encore in March and headed to Tao, I will post pictures and stuff so you can see :)

I've heard the champagne brunch at Bellagio is the best

I'd definitely go Mandarin Oriental. I've been to the Wynn - it is amazing, but the Mandarin Oriental is brand new and in the middle of everything. Have fun!!! Nobu is a must as well.

I've stayed at the Bellagio, Venetian, and MGM ... and you just can't go wrong!!! Definitely dine at Tao and Circus (reserve a table near the window so you can see the water show). You two are just going to have the BEST time! Xoxo-BLC
