I hate to stray from the topic at hand over here at PIPM, but today I just had to share my late-night discovery. As a child born in late 1984, I was the prime age for all of the Nickelodeon television shows in the eary-mid 1990's. I lived for Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, and Are You Afraid of The Dark. Last night, I was randomly thinking about the characters on Hey Dude and what they might be up to these days. I decided to youtube search these shows and boy was I floored at the results I found!
First, let's talk about the Hey Dude theme song- WOW! Get along little doggie!

Lastly, Are You Afraid of The Dark has EVERY episode on You Tube! I was a total dork last night and stayed up watching the episodes that I can seriously remember word-for-word.
I know you all remember "The Watchers Woods" episode of AYAOTD. Seriously, the 3 old women in this episode used to give me nightmares!
And how could I forget the story about the haunted house with the mute girl who writes "HELP ME" a million times on the wall?!? This episode tops my list of creepiest episodes of AYAOTD-
Isn't it funny how we can remember exact details about these shows that we haven't seen in nearly 15 years?

Randomly, I just finished reading a series of books written by D.J. McHale - who was the producer (and maybe writer?) of Are You Afraid of the Dark!!! They're called the Pendragon Adventure - and I totally recommend them :)

I've tried finding the Season's on DVD before.. Never came across them.
Mute Girl was the scariest episode!!! I had to watch this show with the light on!!!
I LOVED Hey Dude. And my aunt's best friend growing up was the girl who played Melody. She used to come over to my grandparents house and I would just sit and stare at her. Couldnt get enough.

and i was always freaked out by the episode with the tiny doors...and the one with tia and tamara mowry, when one gets turned into a lizard.
Holy Crap...I was just thinking last night if you could find Hey Dude on youtube. That is nuts. I really liked salute your shorts and Clarissa Explains it all.
I use to LOVE Salute Your Shorts and Clarissa Explains it All. Those shows were the best. It's the same with movies from the 80's which were the best as well.
my favorite hey dude episode was the one where brad and melody squared off in some random beauty pageant! i always wanted to be a good packer like brad was in the "talent" portion LOL!

I used to have a weekly standing phone date with my BFF when Are You Afraid of the Dark was on and we weren't having a sleepover cause we were too scared to watch alone! LOVED that show!!! Also a fan of Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts and my all-time fave Nick show, Clarissa Explains it All!!!
Oh my gawd!! I LOVED Hey Dude! And the others too, we used to plan our entire weekends around SNICK with AYAOTD and Roundhouse...what else was on there?!?!?! :) HA! Good Throwback!!
I had completely forgotten about Salute Your Shorts!! hahaha those were all great shows! I also used to watch Clarissa Explains it all, but I don't think that was on Nick.

Remember Round House? It was like the Mickey Mouse club on Nickelodeon. "Whenever my life gets me so down, I know I can go down..." LOVED that show. That and Clarissa.
I LOVED Are You Afraid of the Dark!!! Whenever I'd have a new babysitter, I'd tell them I was allowed to watch it (which I was) and then, after the episode was over, I'd lie and say that I really wasn't allowed to watch it and use that as a bargaining tool to stay up late!
My poor babysitters...

i slept with the bathroom door closed for my entire childhood because i was afraid of getting a glimpse of the mute girl in the full-length mirror! nightmares!
I loved all those shows! Both of those AYAOTD's were so creepy!
Oh, I LOVED all these shows-- even though I was pretty terrified of AYAOTD. I seem to remember one with a magic shop, and the guy who worked there kept correcting the way the kids said his name: "It's Sar-DOH! Accent on the DOH!" So very random, I know. How much older do we have to be before Nick at Night begins airing these?
I loved Hey Dude! I actually loved the other shows too, but Hey Dude was my all time favorite. Clarissa Explains it All was the runner up. I so wish these shows were still on tv.
Melody is Ben Stiller's wife. Loved all those shows. I can still remember the songs like it was yesterday. Remember, All That? So hilarious! Oh, the 90's!!

I LOVED all of these shows (especially Hey Dude) and have been known to look for them on Youtube. I wish they were on DVD I would probably buy them! :-)
Oh my goodness. That was definitely a blast from the past. I lived for those shows too. I LOVED Hey Dude!!! So funny, I will be on you tube tonight looking at all that. I was also a huge Saved By the Bell fan. :)
When I saw the AYAOTD episodes on your post, I had to watch them!! Seriously, made my day. Plus, as soon as Watcher's Woods started, I thought "Sam" looked familiar. It's Joanna Garcia from Reba, Privileged, and Gossip Girl!
