See, I am actually one of those weird people that loves fall and winter. I really love the cooler temperatures and the clothes that come along with the cooler months. I loathe summer because I always feel like I have to have a spray tan and I hate how summer clothes have to show off half of your bod, meaning you have to appear to be "in shape".
Maybe I feel this way because I am a Scorpio, born in November? Or maybe I am just crazy.
The bad thing about this summer slump is that in Memphis, it does not get cooler until well into October or November. I guess I will just have to deal with it.
I am longing to put on an outfit like this, my favorite thing to wear:
And to go along with this weird summer slump feeling, I think I am wanting minimal highlights again. I feel like I am too pale to pull off this dark hair look. My looks seems reminiscent of an EMO teenager who would have red highlights and listen to weird music whilst reading Twilight. These pics are older, but I think this is a color I would like to eventually get back to:
And yes, I am the most indecisive person you will ever meet.
Am I alone in this feeling? Am I the only freak that longs for fall?

i loathe the summer time. it just makes me tired and makes me want to sit inside all day where it's a cool 68 degrees.
i love winter clothes, football season, changing leaves, cuddling up under blankets. and yes-- maybe it is a scorpio thing.
you're not alone.
you are not alone! I actually just told a friend the other day, how I used to be a summer girl- but now, I'm a fall girl. I am just ready for fall everything! the clothes, football, tailgating, the changing leaves :)
I really like that outfit though. I think I'm going to remember this and copy! LOL!
Too bad you aren't in LA, it is still Spring here! Drizzling and cool this am. And I miss having a legit Autumn here, it is my fav too.
Totally feel you on the summer loathing. I can't wait for some sweaters, boots, cute winter coats, etc. etc.
Completely agree! I would much prefer to bundle up in sweaters, scarves and great fall boots! Unfortunately I grew up in Texas where we were only able to dress cozy for about 2 weeks ha!
ps-I've been reading for ages but am just now coming out of hiding to start commenting :)
You are definitely not the only one. Growing up in Florida, I CAN'T STAND Summer time! It's warm, year round here, but between November-April it's relatively refreshing compared to the miserable summer months..May-October! Now that I live in Northern Florida I love the Fall and Winter. I love the clothes, smell of pumpkin, football season! I'm a December baby, so that's another reason.
Here, here, sister! Totally agree! I ♥♥♥♥ the cooler fall temps, changing color of the leaves and of course college football!
btw, highlights would look great!
I agree! I'm already starting to crave cute coats and boots! Fall is my favorite!
For some reason, I just feel more chic in fall/winter clothes.
Fall is my favorite too! I can't wait to break out the boots again.
As far as your hair, I dyed my previously very highlighted blonde hair a darker brown. My highlights had become too much to keep up with and my hair was too light. A few weeks ago I went in and got highlights again, this time not as light of a blonde as I had before. I love it! It lightened me up just the right amount and gave me the change I'd been craving.
PS: I always want to reply or DM to some of your tweets but you don't follow me, you should add me- lawgirl329.
Love those highlights in that first picture!
I feel ya girl. I hate summer clothing and extreme heat. The heat makes me feel so tired and lazy. Clothing wise I despise shorts - hate how I feel like Im constantly pull them down.
Im a scorpio as well and love Fall! Something about the leaves on the ground, cuddling up in blankets, sweaters and boots.
I've had summer slump for the past 2 1/2 years! Fall and Winter are also when things warm up socially... holidays, events! Summer seems to be when everyone goes away. I like Fall and Winter too!
I am so ready for Fall too! I hate how it is too hot to do anything outside.
Nope you're not alone, lots of people love fall/winter too. My BFF hates summer and loves everything to do with the colder months...thanksgiving, halloween, christmas. (I'll admit I love it all too...and winter clothes. I love tall boots and skinny jeans and sweaters!)
However I'm in cold-ass-Canada and we've been having an unseasonably COLD summer this year. I miss the heat actually...but soon enough we'll have snow!
As for your emo hair, it's of course not that bad, but I DO think the lighter highlights/more blond look FABULOUS on you!!! Go lighter forsure!
My favorite would have to be fall and everything that comes along with it. Unfortunately- my husband rodeos have sent us to Hawaii for 2 years. I'm going to miss fall/winter, and even just watching the seasons chance. We're already planning a December trip to Colorado to see snow!
Oh my GOD I thought I was the only one who <3s the cold weather. I'm in DC and it is UNBEARABLE. I love snow and sweaters and boots... not sweating.
I'm tired of my maxi dresses and tank tops. I'm tired of sweating. I miss my comfortable boots and fuzzy sweaters. Plus, I love decorating my house for the fall holidays. Summer is getting boring.
SF Bay Area weather is pretty much the same all year round- temperature is around 55 degrees, it's sunny and windy outside. It gets cold(er) and hott(er) but only for days/couple of weeks at a time. I can't exactly get "sick and tired" of hot OR cold weather for that exact reason...rain- what's that?!
I actually find cloudy days pretty refreshing; even though it doesn't get as hot as where you live, sometimes I just wish for the Sun to stay behind the clouds :)
I’m with you, the summer has a lot to offer, but I’m a Fall and Winter gal. I’m from Florida, so don’t know if you can even call it really Winter, haha!! :)
I am the same way - by the time labour day comes I am sooooo over summer!
We are having a heat wave and I was telling my husband that we Scottish people are bred for chilly, damp castles and look best in wellies and wooly sweaters lol!
Your hair looks so LIGHT, I wouldn't imagine ever calling it dark. However, my hair is naturally almost black (perhaps espresso colored?) and I have very pale skin due to my fear of wrinkles at age 40. Don't worry, you are nothing close to emo looking!
I hate summer and summer clothes. I must get out of Texas asap - it's almost always summer here :)
I hate summer and summer clothes. I must get out of Texas asap - it's almost always summer here :)
I cannot wait for fall. I love football, sweaters, and jeans. You're not the only one! I'm tired of sweating walking to my car in the mornings
Summer only sounds good when you're at Kroger fighting over a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk before the impending "ice storm".
NOTHING is better than the changing leaves, SEC football, Thanksgiving, new boots (!!!), and shopping for new fall clothes!
I love the fall/winter as well. It's my favorite time of the year.
Unfortunately, living in Fl, it doesn't get cold here until Nov/Dec and that's if we are lucky. But, after the summer's we've had, I long for the cold weather.
Came across your blog and have been following it ever since. I am definitely with you on the fall/winter thing!! I have the same fair complexion and don't tan well. I constanly feel like I have to apply the self tanner to put on a pair of shorts and it's just too much extra work when getting ready. I cannot wait for cool weather, cute fall outfits, football, and the holidays! Glad to know I'm not the only one!
And I'm loving the highlights in that first picture!
I miss fall/winter. so far my summer is filled with too much rain. I am over it.
i love summer, but I love colder weather. The other day I was just mentioning to my husband that we need to plan our yearly ski trip. He looked at me like I was crazy, as it was only July 4th.
I just wrote attempt at an optimistic entry about summer being my favorite season, but i am in a summer slump as well (for a different raason) though i definitely agree with you on the wretched heat and my unwillingness to show off my "bikini" bod.
