Did you all know that David's Bridal now does invitations? This is one area that I wish I could go back and save money on during my wedding planning. I was determined to get the most expensive Crane & Co. invitations and after mailing them all out and realizing that most people would just toss them or hang them on their fridge, I had a feeling that I should have gone with something cheaper.

Don't skimp on the invitation! It sets the tone for the party there are plenty of companies that offer reasonable prices with great quality. Not sure what the quality of davids Bridal is though:)

Funny you should say that, cause while I wanted the necessities like lined envelopes and the 2nd envelope, this was one area I was quite happy to skimp on a little. We paid like $350 total for 100 invites, enclosures and thank you cards and I was soooo happy with them!
We ordered our invitations from David's Bridal, and they turned out great. The printing is actually really good quality. When you're sending 250+ invitations like we are, you can't justify paying a lot of money per invitation.
I got mine the other day at paper Affair. They are BEAUTIFUL... all script with a very soft torn edge. They print them in house. Now they were expensive, but not nearly as expensive as Crane. I agree with imjustagirl... Dont skimp on invites. It DOES set the tone of the whole event. I can say that from experience because i have been to 9, yes 9, WEDDINGS ALONE THIS YEAR! Mine is #12 the last one.. and I have every intention to make it the best anyone has been to all year! But now I can look at invites and know what to expect at weddings now! Sad but true.
Oh my gosh me too! That is the ONE for sure thing i would not spend $ on again! People usually end up tossing them anyways
I think the invite is almost the best part of planning a party! It's the first thing guests see and sets the whole feel of the event. We paid entirely too much for our invites, but they were on gorgeous soft linen paper with slightly torn edges and a gorgeous slate gray calligraphy. It's my favorite piece of "art" in our house and totally worth the splurge. I haven't seen the invites at David's, but assuming the quality is good then I am all about a bargain :)
