PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Back to the 70's

Back to the 70's

Over the weekend I organized all of my denim. I have 1 pair of bootcut jeans. The rest are ALL either straight, skinny, ankle, or jeggings.
It has taken me a while to warm up to the idea of anything other than a skinny jean. As most of you probably know, bell-bottom and huge flare jeans are back this spring as the trend is more bohemian.

I do not think skinny jeans will go out of style by any means, I just think this is another style of denim to embrace.

These Hudson's are my current favorite flare out there:

And this is how I would wear the trend:

What do you guys think?

I'm glad flares are back! I think they can be a super glam way to wear denim if styled correctly. Also, I got a pair of flares in college and wore them for 8 years! I loved them!!! But I agree, I don't think skinnies are going anywhere either. These days it's no longer ok or necessary to embrace one major trend... we are given a license to wear whatever we want now and take advantage of as many styles & trends as we can store and afford! I love it!

I'm a fan of the flare - especially over high heels with just the toes peeping out. Totally embracing this trend!

I love, love, love the flared look...the only thing is you essentially have to wear wedges or heels with them. I can't always wear tall shoes while running kiddos to and fro. I like the fact that you can wear skinnies with flats & head out the door.

I most definitely will be getting some flared jeans. I feel like they are more flattering on curvy girls (like me) vs. skinnies.

That's so funny that you have so many skinnies and only 1 bootcut! Bootcuts are classic and great for heals... altho, if you don't like heals, I can see why you would go with straights/skinnies. :)

Where is that top from in your "how I would wear them" picture?

I've been on board with these for a couple months now and I love them. I have to convince myself not to wear them every day! Can't wait to see a photo of you in them. :-)

Flare leg jeans were in style my last few years of high school and I hate to say this but I've mainly been wearing them ever since. I'm only 5'1" and I feel like it is hard to find pants that don't make me look (feel) large even though I know I'm not. Flare leg pants are the most flattering on me. I haven't been wearing the super flares though. I finally found some skinny jeans that don't make me feel huge and I have lived in them lately. My absolute favorite pair of jeans is a pair of limited edition flare jeans from GAP that I found while living in San Fran. So wish I could find more and hem them to wear with all different height shoes! Finally bought a pair of bootcut jeans and I haven't worn them because every way I style them I hate how they feel.

Apparently I've been out of style (shocker) for years, because I never gave up on my bootcut jeans! I'm just not made for skinny jeans, this cut is way more flattering on me!

Yes please. I heart the flares. And I never made it into Bloomies, but I'm after those Hudsons.

I'm not a big fan of flare jeans. I think it hides cute shoes. To each his own!

I absolutely LOVE flares and wide leg pants. You are right it takes awhile to warm up to, but once you do they are so fabulous!
