I purchased my first long boho maxi skirt this week and will definitely post an outfit of the day when it arrives. I got mine at H&M and decided to start out with a plain black one to test the trend. If I like it, I will branch out to printed maxi skirts.
Also, to go with this look, I am getting *hold your breath* A FEATHER HAIR EXTENSION! These have also been big lately and I am just getting one or two, so don't freak out Mom (I can just hear her now, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR HAIR!"). All I need now is a tambourine and some hippie crystals and I will be set!
Here are some of my favorite boho long maxi skirts:
And what's even better are the ones that are convertible, meaning the can be a dress OR A SKIRT! TWO-IN-ONE!
And here is how I would wear the look:
Do you like them or not?

I love them!!! And I want an update on the feather hair extensions! How do you wash your hair ... ? Or do you embrace the hippy vibe and not all? Whatever I totally want feathers in my hair now too!!!
I like certain maxi skirts. If they're made well (whether cheap or high end) then they're great! But some of them aren't cut quite right and tend to make people look bigger than they are and not very good. But love the yellow one you've put in your look! Super cute!
No.
I totally agree, at first glance I was not too sure about the maxi skirt but the more I see it, the more I like it. BLack is a great starter option. I am lusting over the Tibi skirts, but whats new, i am obsessed with Tibi!
the maxi skirts.... not so much. The feather extensions... LOOOOVE! I am getting some this weekend, I think. My sister's work does them and I think they are awesome. She has two that are pink and blue {shes 16} and I think I will get like 3 of the plain black and white striped ones.
you can actually get ones put in that you can wash, curl, etc.! my stylist ordered some last week and I am going to be her test run!
I think the skirts look way better on girls with a bit of 'thickness' to them and some height.. not someone that is rail thin and shirt. I couldn't possibly pull them off. They are way too long for me!
And the feather extensions are okay for bigger, fashion cities but I don't think they fit well in Memphis. lol
I DO like maxi skirts, but I just don't know that I can pull off the "boho maxi skirt look". I'm only 5'2" and around here, it wouldn't be practical to wear my skirt dragging the ground like Rachel Zoe and I would *really* look like I just came "from the farm"!
I like the feather extensions, but probably won't get any. I got a pink extension put in in October for BCA month. It was so annoying that I couldn't brush my hair all the way through!
Love it! I bought brown & black maxi skirts at the end of summer last year. I wore them too many times to count. So versatile and PERFECT when you don't get around to using self tanner OR shaving your legs. Totally COVERED.
I love them although I haven't purchased my first one yet. A girlfriend has a super cute striped one from Anthro.
Are those Miu Miu shoes back this spring? Love them!
yes they do, megan :) they are on sale on bluefly
You'll love the feather extensions! I just got them yesterday and I am obsessed!
Great choices !!
love your blog!

I like the plain black maxi skirt... as long as they're straight and plain i think i'm a fan! I love the feather hair extensions- I'm going after work to get some put in, I'm so excited :) And I love the pic you found of the girl w/ them in... she's actually an IRL friend of mine!
