Lately I have been really trying to just make what I have in my closet work until it truly gets cool enough to buy some fall clothes. I am not going to lie, it's been a challenge. I have really only bought about 3 dresses since April- part of it is just that I hate summer clothes and another part of it is that I wanted to save up for purses and shoes. I did place an Old Navy order last week and will probably start buying some fall stuff soon, but we all know we can't wear fall clothes until around October.
Here are some items that I've had in my closet all summer but just haven't put them together like this. This J.Crew blouse is super old and has just been hanging. The denim jacket is an awesome piece to tie any outfit together. The scarf is an investment piece- I've found that Hermes scarves are extremely durable and give just the right amount of drape that I want from a scarf. You just really can't go wrong with an Hermes scarf coming from someone who is obsessed with scarves and collects them.
I am so excited for fall scents. It's time to ditch the light floral scents and get out the more dark and musky scents for the cooler temps. Here are some of my favorites. What are yours?

I've been trying to wear what I have and not buy anything new. It's been helpful in narrowing down what I actually need/am missing versus what I just want to buy. I've also been purging the closet like ccaahhrazy. Did just order several of the Issa for BR dresses..oopsie. :)
I also hate shopping for summer. I hate the heat, everything gets gross b/c I sweat in it and have to wash it after every wear. Blah. Bring on fall and boots and scarves!
Oooh! I love this outfit! I'm going to try to recreate it with what I have (things I rarely wear, too)! I don't think the weather is cool enough for jackets yet but it looks awesome! :)

I love how you styled your outfit. I'd never think to put those pieces together but you make it look effortless and awesome!
i never thought i'd be able to use a hermes shawl but then i got one. you're so right about the drape. they all fall so beautifully, are extremely versatile and you can use it in so many ways. i actually use them more than any other sized scarves in my closet.
