This & That Thursday: Skincare, Outfits & TV

I recently did a Sephora binge order and have been very pleased with the products now that I've had a few weeks to test them out.

Have you all heard of Nude Skincare? I've seen articles talk about it and decided to try it out with their Jelly Omega Cleanser.  This cleanser is unique in that it comes out like a jelly consistency, but as soon as you add water it turns milky.  I just love the smell!

I am so bipolar with skincare though ... one week I will use something all natural and the next week I am smearing hydroquinone all over my face to fade spots.

Here's a little bit about the NUDE line:

I also asked the sales associate at Sephora if she'd make me a sample of the Nude Fizzy Powder because I really didn't want to waste money on some baking soda (what it looks like) if it didn't work.  She gave me a very generous sample and I was really impressed!

These come out like a powder but as soon as you mix in water they turn into an exfoliating paste that leaves your face feeling clean, soft, and brighter.

I was in the market for an everyday nude lipstick and this Marc Jacobs color fit the bill:

I decided to try a new concealer because I was out of the one I've used for almost a year now.  I love all of the MUFE HD line, so I decided to try their HD Invisible Concealer.

I am really impressed with the formula- it goes on smooth and traceless, however, I HATE the silicone applicator.  I wish they would have just used a brush or sponge applicator instead.  It always dispenses too much product after you click just one time.  I will use the rest of it but I am definitely going back to my Maybelline cheapo concealer that I love and should have never strayed from ...

So, the Peter Thomas Roth TCA Acid Peel Pads ... despite the good reviews, don't waste your money.  Just go to a Medspa and pay 100 dollars to get a TCA peel- I promise it will be more potent.  The solution in the PTR pads is so weak ... there's no way it's 40% triple acid.  It didn't even sting.  It did make my skin really smooth, just nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the price.  I am going to see if I can return these.

The Kat Von D Tattoo liner remains a favorite- this is my second one I've purchased!

Speaking of hydroquinone ... I have been using the Rodan + Fields Reverse Line for a few months now.  I don't use it every night, but I mix it in about 3-4 times a week.  I have definitely noticed fading of my dark spots and freckles.  I took a picture before I started and one after.  I am not one to shill products on anyone, but if you want to give it a try my friend Blair is offering a free mini-facial to anyone who purchases from her Rodan + Fields site and sends her an email saying they heard about it from PIPM (blairscalise@gmail.com).  Just to note- I paid for the regimen in full and wasn't given any of the products for free.  It really does work to fade spots and even out skintone.

Can I tell you how obsessed I am with this firework print from J.Crew? It's so festive!

I got the pants (which are on sale) and wore them with a black turtleneck sweater and black suede d'orsay heels.

I also found this IRO Paris Jova Leather Jacket on super sale for 75% off at a local store here, Oak Hall.  It is a light distressed grey and will be perfect to wear into spring.

Wearing it with Madewell jeans & booties

Now I am going to tell you about the perfect oversized sweater cardigan that you all will love! It goes with everything!  I've already worn it 10 times.  It's kind of pricey for Madewell, but they occasionally have a 20% off promo so be on the lookout and also don't forget they do 15% off for teachers & students!

Just a couple other random outfit dump pictures taken over the past couple of months:

Love the look of leopard and camel together!

Here's a cute floral Forever 21 dress that isn't cheap feeling or super short.  Isn't it crazy how some Forever 21's suck and others are full of gems? I went to the one in Chicago and just the way that the clothes were displayed differently helped me tremendously in being able to find some winners!

And this scarf was $4.99 there!

..............................................................................................................................................

I've noticed that the sandal mule seems to be the "it shoe" for the spring:

Just an FYI- Target has a really cute version for only 30 dollars!

They also come in black!

..............................................................................................................................................

I am also so looking forward to wearing full midi skirts with pumps, BARE LEGS and a fun jacket.  I saw this on Instagram and want to recreate the whole outfit.

Is anyone else excited for House of Cards Season 3 to come out this weekend?  I've already allocated my binge-watching time and fully intend to watch all of the episodes in one sitting.

If you're looking for another good show to fill your time, check out Transparent on Amazon Prime Instant Streaming Video.  It's a dark comedy that has a lot of inappropriate humor, weird characters, and an addictive storyline following the family of a dad that is going through the transition of becoming a woman. It is SO good and I promise you'll laugh!

Have a great week and I promise to start posting more often than every few weeks :P

I was so tempted to try the PTR acid peel pads because I love the whole line, but thanks to your review I'm going to do some research into other peels. Also, I just want to let you know I adore your honest skincare/makeup reviews, here and on Instagram!

I saw your picture of you with the pads on your face on Insta. I'm glad to see they really work! I have rosacea and I'm nervous to try stuff, but maybe I'll try.

Love all these outfits! You make wearing booties look so easy! Any suggestions for how to wear them with leggings without looking like I'm wearing tights and a long shirt or sweater? I feel like that always happens when I try it.

Exfoliating powders seem to be the new it thing in the skincare industry. I noticed Josie Maran came out with one recently too!

I LOVE the Nude brand. I think they are so underrated, hardly ever see/hear anyone talk about them. I use the ProGenius oil in the winter and omg, gamechanger! I have oily skin that used to be acne prone and this keeps that under control. My skin just glows the next day and looks plump and basically just amazing. Sephora pretty routinely offers deluxe samples, highly recommend it to anyone!
