PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Fashionista turned Frugalista?!?!

Fashionista turned Frugalista?!?!

So, yesterday I was on a little online shopping spree. After tax return time, I had some extra cash allotted for some things that I wanted to purchase online. I really wanted the Chloe T-strap wedges and the Eileen Fisher scarf that I had previously blogged about just last week. For some reason I had this urge to go bargain hunting to find similar items for much less money. And what did I find? I found some lovely and chic items for way under 150 dollars total! What's gotten into me? Don't get me wrong, I will always splurge on purses, always ... purses are my absolute addiction and hobby, but sometimes you can save on shoes and other accessories and still look cute and put-together!

Let's examine my bargains!

First of all, here is the Eileen Fisher scarf that I really wanted:

And here is the Love Quotes scarf I found on sale for only $31.99 via Piperlime.com:

Here are the Chloe wedges that I wanted:

And here are the TWO Jessica Simpson (I swore I would never wear JS shoes) wedges I got ($69.99 each- what a steal). So inexpensive that I got them in black AND gold (via Nordstrom.com):

Have you all found any great bargains lately?

Love those JS wedges and I am not a fan of JS shoes either, haha. I'm with you though... purses and shoes are great splurge items and sometimes you can save on other aspects of your closet!

I've been eyeing those JS shoes for a few days! But, I have been hesitant to order, because I have only owned one pair of shoes from her collection before, and I was NOT impressed! Let us know how you like them once you get them :)

I have like 10 pairs of JS shoes and I love them all! They are comfy and cute and I personally think they're very well-made! Also, if you're going for something super trendy that may not stand the test of time as far as what's in style goes, why not buy JS? For $70ish, who cares if it goes out of style in a year?! Cute finds!

The scarf you ended up getting from Piperlime looks better than the Eileen Fisher one, IMO!

Spent part of my tax return on a CHI and a few things from the Saks F&F sale, trying to save the rest...

Great finds!

I've always been a bargainer. I spend serious cash on handbags and the occasional to-die-for shoes, but I love sales racks and finding things cheaper. That way, when things go out of style or I don't want them after I wear them once, I don't feel as bad!

BTW, I swore I would never buy anything JS, but I found a super-cute dress last weekend and it's JS. I bought it anyway.

So funny - was just talking to someone on Twitter about the J. Simpson shoe-buying dilemma. I've very reluctantly bought two pairs of her heels over the past year, and I've been amazed with how comfy they are and how well they've held up.

On the budget wedges note, I just picked up another pair of the Banana Republic espadrille wedges; they made these a few years back, and my pair from then is still going strong.
