PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: I Miss College

I Miss College

As I'm approaching my 26th Birthday this November, I find it so hard to believe that I've been out of college for 3 years. I don't think I'm the only one who longs for the carefree days of college when there wasn't a care in the world.

The biggest problems were-

what dress to wear for a night out on the town:

Or to plan a color coordination night where everyone wears the same color scheme:

to find someone to wear ridiculous clip-in hair extensions with you:

Or what to wear to Keeneland:

whether or not to run for student government (this is me and Dave and Brit):

Or what song to karaoke at Austin City Saloon:

What to wear to that football game that was going to be rained out or snowed out:

How to get the creeper to stop following us from Cheapside Bar and Grill:

what you'll say when you meet Ashley Judd:

or what to wear to people's 21st Birthday celebrations:

If you'll trip when you turn the tassel in front of the whole graduating class:

Long story, short- I miss college. I miss the fun. I miss my friends. I miss being involved.

When college ends people move, people get married, people get jobs. The easy life stops and we are bound to the "real life" where it's harder to get together, harder to pick up the phone and call, harder to get away from our jobs or families, harder to get involved in causes.

Do you all miss college? I wish I could have stayed a lot longer than 4 years! Some of the best memories ever come from my college years!

Living here, I sometimes feel like I AM still in college! I'll miss it when I move.

Girl, I hear you loud and clear. I was on the four and a half year college plan which taught me that it's not college so much as what college was at a certain time. To go back now would be lame and no one that mattered would be there. But if I could extend that party a bit longer it would be great.

My sorority had an alumni function similar to one we had in college, only at a bar in Chicago. I honestly don't think I could have had more of a fun time with that crowd again. If you were greek or even not, I'd def suggest doing something like that with your old crowd.

I miss college too! Glad to see I'm not the only one. It was so much easier to see friends all the time. I think that's what I miss most. That and my general carefree outlook on life.

i miss college SOOOOOO much and I've been out for 5 years now.:( I would go back in a heartbeat only if we could leave the having to go to classes situation out of the experience.

everytime i visit my old alma mater my heart goes pitter patter.

thanks for sharing your pictures! they are so fun!

Loved seeing these pics! Although I am in college right now, I am not the "traditional" student and have to constantly balance school, being a mommy, being married, working, and lots more. But, my sister will be going to college next year, and I do encourage her to prepare herself for the best time of her life. It's sad that fun times have to end, but at least you always have the memories! :)

YES!! Although, now that I am living in a (different) college town, I still get to go to football games. But I miss those days so much. I wish I knew how well I had it then.

I miss college. Everyday. I think one of my favorite things about college was the afternoon naps. I'm not a normal nap taking person, but I became one in college!

that is funny! love this post. I just downloaded some songs last night and a lot of them were tunes we listened back in the college days {notorious big, puff daddy, etc.} i miss those days too. my favorite years!

I miss college all the time too, and I'm 30! I went to UK as well and moved back to Lexington 3 years ago after a stint in Nashville.

But being a grown up and having a job, Lexington isn't the same!

My husband did throw a surprise 30th b-day for me at Two Keys, that was awesome!

Thanks for the little walk down memory lane. Now I can't wait for football season and Keeneland!

College was super fun, but I am excited about all of the fun things to come now that I am out of school....even though the "real world" is far less "carefree" as college days! :)

Me too! I miss college more by the day... and so true, my biggest concern was what dress to wear out that night. Great post!

I miss college every day. I turn 27 in August and I graduated in 2004. Looking at your pictures reminded me of the fun I had being in a sorority, college football, parties, and events. I want to go back! Too bad part-time law school while working is nothing like undergrad!

I miss so many things about college but I'm also really excited about all the things to come. I definitely do miss all of my friends...now that college is over we all see each other so much less :(

I've been thinking about my college years alot lately! Miss it so much. I hate that as the years go by I feel less connected with my sorority friends, old roomies etc. They were def the best years of my life and they went by SOOO quickly.

I have only been out for a year, and I miss it SO much! I miss all my friends and how I could just roll out of bed for class, throw on some mascara, tempos and a v-neck shirt and be ready! I miss it

I miss my college days! If I only knew back then what I know now. Some things would be a bit different. But my college experience, girlfriends, sorority life would be the same. It was such a blast, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I miss college so much I'm going back to graduate school next month! I said SO LONG to the 9-5 job and I'm heading back. It seriously was THE BEST and I can't wait to be back on campus again! :)

I worked my @$$ of in college, so I don't miss it as much as you but I hear what you're saying about getting involved... I'm already looking into clubs, junior league, and other stuff to get involved in when we go to London cause I need some fun and social activity!

It looks like you had so much fun in college!! I hated my college years. My "glory" years were the 15 years after college when I moved to Chicago and then NYC.

Also I waited until I was 36 to get married and have kids. I did it all much later and had 15 years to be immature. :-)

I enjoyed college, but being the social person I am, I think I would have done so much better at a big state school or another liberal arts college with stronger traditions.
