A Chill in the Air: Fall trend report part I
So as most of you probably experienced, yesterday was so windy! It was windy and chilly here in Memphis. I know my friends in Louisville experienced power outages due to the wind! The chill in the air has really got me in the mood for fall clothes. So much that I went to JCrew and stocked up on some fall pieces.
I am most excited about my yellow scarf. I love the whole concept of the "outfit scarf" ... some scarfs are meant specifically for winter coats and cold weather, but recently there has been a trend of "outfit scarfs" that are just worn with a short-sleeved tee or long-sleeved t-shirts. I have been hesitant to try this look, but I became inspired in the Jcrew dressing room! The scarf has to be light weight and thin to pull off the look. Here is the one that I purchased (except mine is yellow):
Also, belting is back! A big trend for fall is to belt cardigans, vests, high-waisted skirts, and even casual tees. I purchased this belt at Jcrew:
One of my friends at work has this Michael Kors belt, and it is to die for:
Last, mustard yellow is a GREAT color for fall. I got a ruffle cardigan and a ruffle blouse in mustard yellow. The cashier probably thought that I was crazy with all of the yellow I was purchasing!

I've never been able to pull off the belt look without looking like Peggy Bundy. But it does look cute on most people :) I like the scarf too!
I love the scarf look!
I am soo into scarves....I think I might add that to my shoe, purse, and jewelry addiction. And I love love love JCrew. I gotta save up some $ and then it's shopping time!!
