Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Is it sad that I have absolutely no plans and don't really care? I have always found NYE to be sort of a hoax. Places charge you out the wall to come in and be in the midst of crazy skanky girls in gross outfits and spray tans smoking gross cigs. Personally, I'm over the whole NYE bar scene. I don't know what I'm doing yet. R and I might try to make dinner reservations or something. *Sigh* ... I guess I'm getting old!
We booked our honeymoon destination! We are going to:

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO!!!!!
Rob's dad is a world-traveler and just loves San Juan. Rob and I are both history nerds and San Juan is full of historic sites and neat places to tour. We are staying at a really nice resort so hopefully it will be great! Plus it was the easiest place to get to-- just one connection in ATL and we're there, unlike Trinidad, Belize, and Curacao where you have like 3 connections (no fun!).
I hope everyone has a GREAT nye -- whatever you may be doing :)

I know what you mean! I have no desire to spend $100 at a packed-out, drunken, bar!
I wrote the same blog yesterday or the day before about NYE. I'm over it. It's always a let-down. We're going to eat sushi and then probably back to the couch :)
I have heard great things about San Juan! I've always wanted to go; it's nearby, it's "tropical" yet still American (so no issues with language, money, passports, etc)...I bet you'll love it.
I know what you mean about NYE. I'm over it as well. We are having a few friends over, and that's about it. Congrats on finding a honeymoon destination! You have NO trouble making decisions from what I can tell, and that is a GREAT thing when planning a wedding!
Yay !!! For san juan!!! I know you will love it there!:)
Happy New Year to you too!! Hope that 2009 is the best year ever!!!
Happy New Year! We are staying in this year too. We are such an old couple. :)
It's not sad - we didn't make any plans yet for the same reason. For the past two years, we've gone to the bar at like 11:30 and left by 12:30! Same effect with a lot less hassle!!!
San Juan is beautiful. I was there a couple of weeks ago. It was ridiclously wonderful......I wish we'd stayed longer!! Make sure to check out Old San Juan and el Morro (the fort on the Old San Juan side)...
Oh, I'm so with you. I'm so over the waiting until midnight in hopes that the gorgeous guy of my dreams is going to appear right in front of me to plant one on me as the clock strikes midnight! I've already found the man of my dreams and like you said, the bar scene just doesn't appeal anymore. By the way, I'm new to your blog and have enjoyed reading your posts! Are you from Memphis? You made a couple references to KY and just wondered if that's where your roots are or something. Happy New Year!
