PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Out with the Old ...

Out with the Old ...

Out with the old:

And in with the new!!!:

Okay, I admit it. I am a snacker. I could go all day snacking and eat no meals if I really wanted. I also admit that I am a bad snacker. To me, nothing sounds better to snack on than chocolate chip cookie dough. This has been a habit for a long time. I will buy the little mini cookie dough packets and just pop a couple every so often during the day. If I'm feeling fun I will put some in the oven and actually cook them. I know this is bad.

My motivation to get in shape for the wedding was reinforced today when I saw on my blog wedding countdown that I pretty much have one month left until my wedding. Yes, I have been going to body pump and zumba. No, I have not changed my snack habits.

In an attempt to snack better for a month, I bought some fruit at Target today. I love fruit, but I never buy it because I don't want to take the time to cut it and sort it out to be ready for snacking.

What are some suggestions for healthy snacks? I don't really like vegetables, so I can't do carrots.

Oh, and peeps don't really count as a bad snack, do they? Oops.

I am the same way, just too lazy to wash and cut up fruit so I just eat crap. Can't wait for your wedding and to see picssssss!

I love radishes, grape tomatoes, cauliflower and broccoli dipped in some Light Ranch. Also good for sweet are sliced apples and bananas.

Other good snacks I like are Stacey's Pita Chips Simply Naked with hummus and 100 Calorie Pack Popsecret Popcorn.

I love hummus with whole grain crackers or veggies. For fruit I also like to put bananas or grapes in the freezer.

Nooo, Peeps DO NOT count. They are calorie free--um, I love Peeps...

As far as healthy eating goes, things with fiber are good--grilled veggies with garlic, salt and pepper are really easy to have in a meal or left over for snacks. Fruit is hard for me too, but, it's berry season, and I love nothing more than fresh berries--I have been known to finish off a pack of raspberries before I get home from the grocery store!

I love Special-K Bars, Fiber One makes yummy chocolatey or peanut butter flavored bars - those keep my sweet tooth in check! Also, if you're dying for something easy and chocolate or sweet, I highly recommend sugar free jello (good for hair, nails and skin and only 10 calories per seving & fat free) or either sugar free or fat free pudding cups. Best of luck! It's hard giving up snacks, especially at Easter time with all those cadbury eggs everywhere!

Rice cakes are a great low cal snack I always keep at my desk! A peanut butter chocolate rice cake is filling and only 60 calories. And kind of tastes like a snickers bar. Do you have a link for your ebay listings?

I know you said no veggies, but cucumber slices dipped in hummus are SO GOOD. I also like to make my own granola bars - I can load them with healthy stuff, and no high fructose corn syrup or preservatives.

I'm lazy, so my healthy-ish snacks of choice are usually bananas, Boy Scout light popcorn (the Boy Scouts get it from Trail's End - I discovered it this past year and can't seem to stop snacking on it), and Horizon Organic String Cheese. The bananas are more to fill me up (they're perfect before a workout) and popcorn because I like to crunch on things. If you like eggs, they also sell hardboiled eggs at the grocery - put a little salt and pepper on them for a snack (I actually use my mini-chopper so it's more like eating egg salad but without the mayo).
