PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: In Need of new Bedding

In Need of new Bedding

When we first moved in our house last November, we got some pretty inexpensive bedding just because of our dogs and knowing that it would get dirty. We've now had that bedding for nearly a year, and it probably gets washed at least once or twice a week because of our dogs. We are now ready to "step-it-up" a little bit in the bedding department.

Our bedroom walls are "tiffany blue", so I am thinking we will have to go with all white bedding (even though it makes me want to shreek at the thought of our dogs being on white bedding). Right now we have a really pretty light blue and green paisley design:

I love this "Crowned Crane" bedding from Anthropologie:

And this "Bow-tied" bedding, also from Anthropologie:

Do you all have any suggestions for what would look nice with my bedroom?

Have a great weekend!

I like the bow tied duvet. It is so hard to find bedding that won't get trashed by animals/kids, but is still elegant AND comfortable. Jer is now thinking he has an opinion on these matters and made me promise to never make him sleep in another floral duvet again when we move!

Get something that is machine washable. WIth the dogs you are not going to like taking it to the cleaners once a week!

I'm also on the hunt for new bedding and new bed room furniture.

Linens are so fun, an easy way to entirely change a room!

I think the Bow-Tied Bedding is adorable! And how cute would that be with Tiffany Blue walls!!

This also is cute, it's not from Anthro but from Pottery Barn: Ruched Voile Bedding http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p12289/index.cfm?pkey=call%2Dduvet%2Dcovers%2Dshams

Just another idea. But if you go with Anthro, the Bow-Tied is the pick!

I love Westelm. I have one here in DC and I love going there. I want to buy everything. I have some of their bedding and it's great and machine washable (I have a little Chihuahua who sheds like she was a big dog).

Here's some suggestions: There are simple but elegant:

Michael Kors has bedding on Rue La La today. Not sure if there is anything on there you are looking for, but it is worth a shot!

Pottery Barn will solve all your problems.

I'm with Shasta; machine washable is the way to go if your fur babies will be on the bed!

Also, I agree that white is the main color you want to use for the Tiffany blue walls, but you may want to try dove grey as well.

Good luck. I'm sure it will turn out lovely!

we have two enormous dogs who like to get on the bed, and as much as i love my new bedding (which is similar to your current bedding) and the way the busy pattern can hide dirt, i preferred the plain white duvet we had before - i could just toss it in the wash with bleach each week, and it'd be good as new! perhaps go with a simple white duvet, then fancy it up with pillows and add a fun throw at the foot. the dogs will probably be less likely to destroy pillows in that pintucked fabric than a whole duvet under their little toenails :)

We have two cats and all white bedding. Our bedding is machine washable, which I think is a must with pets. After two years, it still looks pretty decent. Before we had a green paisley kind of print on our bedding. The cats' nails picked up a lot of loose threads and the thing looked like crap pretty quickly.

I think the trick is to get a really sturdy fabric that can withstand some washing.

Have fun shopping!

White would look gorgeous, but brown would also be nice with the tiffany blue, or a black and white pattern :)

We got a white duvet from pottery barn as part of our registry, and Im wishing that I would have gotten something darker. White is impossible to keep clean! What about something brown?

I like both, but we have dogs, (lots bigger) and watch for their nails getting caught in the detailing on the bed. I"m so with you on wanting new stuff!! They jump on our and we tell them no, but come on, when we leave, its free reign!!

First, let me say that the Crowned Crane at Anthro is my very favorite. I had looked at online for a while but just could not justify spending that amount of money when I also have dogs. I found a set that is very similar to the Crowned Crane at Target. I just checked online and here is the link for it.

Not sure of quality, etc because it is still in the bag waiting for me to finish painting my bedroom.

I love Restoration Hardware bedding. We have the Satin hotel stitch, as a duvet cover, so it's incredibly easy to take off and it's machine washable. Ours is also color safe for bleach, for a more ornate look they also have several paisley and antique type prints. Love the Anthro bedding, as long as it's easy to care for!

I think someone already said it but try the West Elm Pin-tuck bedding or Restoration Hardware has great bedding.

we had the same issue-- two dogs in the bed-- so we didn't buy bedding for almost a year. then i decided i couldn't take it and the dogs were booted from the bed and i got my dream bedding.

i love the all white. the first one is my favorite. so lush and yummy looking.

The Trousseau Collection from Macy's would look perfect in your room. It comes in blue embroidery and all of the pieces have these lovely embroidered scallops!

We have it in the tan and it's all washable - which we needed because our dog & cat climb all over it.

I have a similar wall color. I decided to go with chocolate brown. Although I LOVE, the Athro. bedding, white would be killer to take care of. The brown is a nice contrast and is calming and spa-like.

My best friend has the "crowned crane" bedding and it is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely go with that one!

and just keep a throw over the duvet that you can pull off and pop in the wash!

We have all white bedding and love it. Just be sure to invest in a good stain spray and some Shaklee brightener! XXOO

White would be gorgeous, but.... I did the white bedding with pets, and it turned out disastrous. Their hair, any dirt they track in, anything really will find it's way onto the bedcover. If you do get a white one, go with a machine washable one. Just a heads up.. =)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love yours!

Go to pioneerlinens.com

They have some great stuff. I would do white, but I would definitely do something with some texture.

I love the all white bedding. We have all white in our bedroom and it's so easy to wash that I don't mind if the dog is on it.
