PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Thursday Randoms

Thursday Randoms

I got "A Crewed Interest" by Essie on my nails this week.  I really like the color because it's not something you see a lot.  It's more peachy in real life.

How wonderful is this necklace that Zolie Designs sent me to review?  I really love it and have already worn it twice since receiving it last week.  Check out her stuff- it's really cute and great for summer.
I also love this one:

I am loving some Lauren Conrad lately.  Her outfits are so effortlessly chic and I think she does a great job of mixing classic and trendy pieces.  She can do no wrong in my book, and her hair is absolutely to-die-for.

Okay, so I think Tatcha is breaking me out, which is such a shame because I really liked the products and the way they make my skin feel.  Ever since starting it two weeks ago (remember this post) my face has been breaking out like I'm in High School again.  I have a nice bermuda triangle of zits going on around the cheek area.  What gives?

Is it that much to ask to want flawless skin?  I'm kind of in a skin care rut.  What's your absolute holy grail product that you've found for skin care?  Do share.  I'm in the mood to try some new stuff.

I am on the hunt for some skinny jeans like this picture ever since seeing it randomly online:
Suggestions welcomed.

Ooh, I LOVE that necklace! And the nail polish. And the slightly destroyed jeans--I've always been a sucker for them, especially when paired with heels. If you find a good pair, you better do a post! I'll be watching/waiting, mmhm. <3

Bio Oil. I swear by it. I put it on after my prescription stuff (metrogel for rosacia) and before my moisturizer, it has evened out my skin tone...shrunk my pores and makes my skin feel so smooth. I put it around my eyes too...everywhere! It's awesome.

I love the photo of you in this post. You look classy, simple, elegant. I think your light make up in this has a lot to do with it - sometimes you wear a lot more (which is nice, just a totally different look), and I just wanted to let you know - this simple makeup look REALLY suits you. You look great.

I decided to go for pink and gold necklaces this summer and I like this one a lot!
I think I can´t give you any advice on skincare because I have dry skin, oh well, I´m using Estee Lauder´s Hydra... for daytime (I can´t remember the name) and Paula´s Choice Resist at night.
I got some skinny ripped jeans at mango yesterday, outfit post is coming tomorrow (haha, when I take the pictures)

Ooh love the necklace & the skinny jeans. You could always destroy your own :) As for skincare, I don't spend a ton of money. I stick with Neutrogena or Biore products. However, I am getting a facial for the first time tomorrow. Let us know if you come up with a new skincare routine you love!!

Holy grail of skin care...Dermalogica Microfoliant! I started getting acne when I moved from the Midwest to Florida and it cleared the acne up right away and gave my skin a beautiful glow! Someone even randomly stopped me in the mall to tell me they loved my skin and ask what product I use!

Just a thought, but could the blemishes on your cheek be coming from your cell phone? A lot of people forget just how many germs there are on their phones. I mean, we do use them mostly with our hands so it's basically like rubbing your hands all over your face. Hope you are able to solve your problem.

I am a bit fickle when it comes to skin care (I always like to try what's new,) but my holy grail products for breakouts are MAC green gel cleanser and Shiesedo Anti-Shine Refreshing Lotion. Those will clear up a breakout quickly, but are definitely not for everyday use. Currently I'm loving Korres, a natural line sold in Sephora. The brightening rose serum and moisturizer are awesome and smell divine!

Did you see that she just dyed her ponytail pink? Amazing!

LOVE the pink necklace! I also creep on LC and love everything she wears! I love, love, love Amore Pacific. Their products are all green-tea based and hard to find here (I think the NM by me in Short Hills may be the last one carrying it) but it is AMAZING! If you ask NM for samples they will give you a ton!

I love that necklace! I actually swear by Clark's Botanicals Marine Cream. It's a bit pricey for my budget, but works miracles.

My favorite skincare product is Emu Oil! I use it as a moisturizer and absolutely love it! It's all natural and has done wonders for my skin. You should check it out http://www.montanaemuranch.com/pages/Laid-in-Montana.html

Love the nail color!

I have some really similar jeans that I picked up at a J. Crew outlet. That's not so helpful for where you can find some now, but if you have an outlet nearby or are traveling near one, check it out.

Are you still using the Rodin product - I think it's called Olio Lusso? During a recent facial, my aesthetician recommended that I add a serum to my routine. She said it would go on top of a toner and under a moisturizer.

I have some serious LC love too! That necklace is gorgeous, too. :) After 3+ years of lusting over one, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Clarisonic last week! I got a Mia in Mango Tango and I am seriously loving it. We'll see how it works in the long run!

Have you tried Arbonne? I love their skincare line.

Do you use a Clarisonic? I'm sure you do! :-)

I am always switching around skin care products too. I've been using Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel for a few months now and really like it. I haven't tried any of the other products yet, but have heard good things about most of them.

I love every single item LC wears but she's always so clean and polished (nothing is out of place or messy) that her "chic" look seems anything but effortless! :)

I have combination skin so my skincare gets tricky at times-I have to rotate different cleansers and moisturizers. One thing that really makes a really big difference is a good face mask. I LOVE REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask and Indian clay mask from Whole foods- it costs $6.99, it's all natural and MUCH better than a lot of other (not so inexpensive) masks I tried so far! http://www.aztec-secret.com/clay.html

I've been using it weekly for years now and I swear by it.

P.S. I prefer natural products but I also like this toner that was recommended by a spa esthetician-it's good for combination skin and I use it under heavier moisturizers w/ vitamin E before bed: http://newlifebeautycenter.com/index.php/component/virtuemart/skin-care/lotions/biologique-recherche-lotion-p50w-1970-detail?Itemid=0

Tazorac cream! I haven't had a bad breakout since I started using it. I put in on after I put on my CeraVe PM moisturizer. It works great!

I have combo skin and switch between Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and Origins Checks & Balances for cleanser. For moisturizer I use Origins Vitazing in the AM and Origins A Perfect World at night. My skin has never been so happy! : )

love those necklaces - the whole line is really cute actually.

you know, i'd never really thought much about LC one way or the other, but now that i look at your pics, i see she does have great style. it's so effortless that i missed it...lol!

i'm so lazy when it comes to skincare. i've been blessed with good skin and it's not so much that i take it for granted, it's really that the less i do, the better my skin is. the more i do, the more problems i have (dryness and sensitivity). i'm good about wearing sunscreen, but i don't wear make-up unless i have to for work (i'm an actress).

my current routine is: cleansing with witch hazel on a cotton pad morning and night. i moisturize with california baby calendula cream. if i have make-up on, i remove it with ponds cleansing cloths - they're too easy to pass up!

i've also gone through periods of just washing with water (no cleanser), or using cetaphil cleanser or california baby super-sensitive body wash and shampoo as a facial cleanser.

cetaphil doesn't irritate or dry my skin out (which is great), but it's not that great at taking off make up or sunscreen. i have to wash with it 2-3 times to get make-up off. i stumbled on the california baby wash while caring for a friend's baby. i'd left my cleanser at home and needed something to get sunscreen off my face. i discovered that it did a great job of cleaning - even removing eye make-up, didn't sting my eyes and didn't dry out my skin at all.

i ramble. the one thing (and really the only thing) that makes the biggest difference in how my skin looks is the amount of water i'm drinking. drinking A TON of water shows up on my skin (increased clarity, deweyness & luminosity) within 3 days.

could your new product be bringing stuff to the surface?

Holy grail skin care product- retin a!! (I use atralin gel). Hands down, the best thing I've ever done for my skin. When you first start using it, it's miserable- but after the first 4 weeks, my skin started glowing. I get compliments all the time! Its literally changed the texture of my skin. I use it every night, and in the morning I use CeraVe and Aczone. I also use the clarisonic 2-3 times a week. After trying everything, I realized my derm knows best :)

I am a skincare nut too! I recently read some articles about the best anti-aging treatments and turns out Good Housekeeping did their homework! Most of their products were scientifically tested...

I've been using Boots No. 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Beauty Serum under Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer at night and during the day, Neutrogenas Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Moisturizer (with retinol). My skin has been super soft since using it and haven't had ONE breakout!

i also love Dior Hydralife brand line. it's great but the kind with sunscreen feels a little tacky on the skin so I've opted for the neutrogena with sunscreen as of late! good luck!

bliss has a line called "No Zit Sherlock"; their mini kit of it is a great deal (available at Sephora), and I use it 2-3 times/week. Changed great with any other skin care as is cleans things up without over-drying.

Holy Grail- For clearing up the occasional breakout I use Aveda Outer Peace acne relief lotion. I have used Dermalogica as well but I did not like the smell. A product I swear by that has changed shrunk pores and evened out my skin in Lancomme Vissionaire.

Holy Grail- The best product I've found for the occasional breakout is Aveda Outer Peace acne lotion. I love that it clears everything up without leaving my face feeling like it's on fire. I have used Dermalogica as well but found the smell was unpleasant (who wants a stinky face?) As far as for my overall skin favorite, I would have to say Lancome Visonaire. It has really shrunk my pores and evened my skin tone.

I use baking soda to wash my face... just make a paste of that and water and lightly rub it into your skin. It's abrasive, so obviously be gentle... but I love that it's natural and clears my pores. I have dry and sensitive skin and it's never been a problem when followed by moisturizer.
