I am someone who's had some sort of acrylic, gel, dip powder, or polish on their nails for almost my entire life. I got my last set of dip nails in early December and picked them all off right before Christmas. Since then, I've been embracing my real nails to give them a break but to also save some money because going and getting your nails done all the time can add up really quick. Coincidentally, around this same time my lovely MIL started carrying an all organic nail line in her Real Raw Beauty line of products.

I was excited when Jan offered to send me the base coat, color of my choice, and gel top coat to try and write a post about so that you all would know that there are other options out there!
The thing I loved most about this line of nail polish was how easy it was to apply. I don't know if that has something to do with the lack of the 8 most common nail polish chemicals or what, but it went on so smooth and didn't really take all that long to dry for me. Jan had warned me that since it was a chemical-free nail polish that it may take a little longer to dry, but I didn't experience that as I let them dry for a good 10 minutes and that seemed to do the trick. I chose the color Namaste, but there are so many other good colors to choose from.
Do you all get worried about the chemicals that are in nail products?

I would love to get gel nails regularly, but $70 a month really adds up, and I'd rather spend it on travel, so I only get my nails done for special occasions. I keep my nails super short the rest of the time. That being said, yes, I don't like all the chemicals in nail polish, and the remover is even worse, especially if you are removing gel polish. Regular polish isn't worth the time to apply because it chips off the next day since I cook a lot, wash my hands a lot, and do dishes. If they ever come out with a chemical free gel polish I'd be all over that!
How is the lasting affect of it? I went to a spa that had organic polish and it came off within one day. I wash my hands like crazy #germaphob but wondering if this stays! I am getting my gels taken off next week and it cannot come soon enough. My cuticles and skin around my nails is literally peeling from being so dry and always using that acetone shit to soak every two weeks.
Hey Megan, the nail polish lasts super long. I had a pedicure 2 weeks before Christmas and my toe nails still look incredible. I am just ready for a new color. The better than gel top coat makes your nails look like you have gel nails. My fingernails last 3-3 1/2 weeks. I get 2 coats of the gel top coat. You just have to allow an extra 5-10 minutes to let them dry. My nail tech told my she didn't like my polish because I didn't come see her as often. She didn't like the fact that they lasted so long!!
