I am blogging this morning from the upper deck of our little beach side cottage in Florida. We are having a great vacation, but this morning I literally have a LOST hangover. I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about the ending. I stayed up way too late trying to watch Jimmy Kimmel after realizing that it doesn't come on until ONE am here. Needless to say, I fell asleep trying to watch it.
I won't post any major spoilers for those who have not watched it yet, but I was overall pleased with the ending. I think the ending appeased to a "female viewer" because everything ended harmoniously and eloquently. I will say that when Vincent (the dog) was in the ending, I totally lost it and started crying.
What did you all think? I am just sad that the show is over. I don't think I can get as emotionally invested in another show like I did with LOST. I was a faithful viewer and always got on Lostpedia message boards after every episode to see what people thought about said episode.
I will say that I found this quote online last night and when I read it, it really rang true with how I felt about the ending (SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT):
"One of the most epic lines of the series was delivered by Jack in the first season: "Live together, or die alone." The finale of LOST suggests that those who come into our lives ensure that we do live together, and even if we die alone we will be reunited again—when it counts."
Were you all happy with the ending?
If you are still confused, like I was, read this great article by the "Theories About Lost" blog, where they summarize the ending: READ IT HERE
Note: I kept the post somewhat spoiler free, but if you haven't seen the ending yet, I might not look at the comments as someone could possibly have spoilers in the comments.

oh man. I cried. i knew it as soon as kate got out of the car and told him she was going inside and could go through the back and come in when he was ready. I knew it then. I cried when everyone was in the church hugging each other, all the old faces...i think mostly because it's what we all want to believe happens when we pass. Oh my gosh, I'm going to cry again, now! I thought it was good and was very satisfied. I am going to miss the characters, though.
I totally lost it, I was balling like a baby. I thought it was the most beautiful finale, although it really did make us all look like jerks for having so many unimportant questions throughout the series, when the main point was about relationships and who you spend your life and make meaning with. Aww. :)
I loved the finale. Yes there are still questions but thats what made the show so great! I am going to miss it SO much!
Loved the finale too, but still have so many questions. I'll definitely be checking out the article you have posted here. Thanks!
I'm so sad that Lost is over! I'm still processing the ending but I think it's growing on me.
I love your blog, by the way!
love it! Have been a HUGE Lost fan since day one, and am so happy that Jack did indeed not "died alone". Although the finale did not answer most questions, it felt like a cohesive ending to the show. I cried and cried like a baby....I was beautifully written and the cinematography and musical score were both amazing. This whole show has awlays felt more than a movie to me than a TV show.
In my personal opinion, I have always thought that the show is loosely based on the hymn "Amazing Grace"...
I don't watch lost, but had to add another favorite if you're here in town. Stop by queen bee cupcakes in Seaside. The BEST cupcakes ever!
So awful that it's over! Not sure how I feel about the ending of the sideways plot, but overall a very good ending! What will we do now with our Tuesday nights!?
One of the best shows ever. I didn't cry as much at the finale as I did when Sun and Jin went down with the submarine... that was EPIC!!
