PIPM: Pretty in Pink Megan: Garnier Blow Dry Perfector Kit- Update Distaster

Garnier Blow Dry Perfector Kit- Update Distaster

If you all read my previous review on Garnier's Blow Dry Perfector kit, you know that I was sketched out by the less than stellar results. After using it on Sunday, I am back to report that my hair is in absolute shambles after using this kit.

My hair is dry like straw and has no movement or shine. I have always had shiny and silky hair and this kit ruined my hair. Nearly 200 dollars later, it is just now getting back to normal after buying every piece of the Joico K Pak reconstructor kit, hair masks, hot oil treatments, and other remedies. Not to mention it stripped my color and made my ends frizzy like pieces of straw.

If anyone from Garnier reads this post, you should be ashamed for promoting and letting an item like this remain on the shelves. I read SEVERAL reviews on Make-up Alley (click here to read) where it caused people's hair to fall out in clumps and some people even had to get several inches cut off of their hair to remove the damage. Some people are even considering getting attorney's to see if they can file a claim against Garnier. Luckily my damage is not that severe, but it's definitely bad.

Please, by all means, do not buy this product. It is awful and is pretty much like putting perm solution on your hair with how much it fries the ends. I am calling Garnier today to see if I can get my money back.

Seriously, that sucks! Thanks for the warning!

Did you call into the Q this morning? I thought I heard you on the radio. LOL

Oh Megan, how awful! Is there any chance you can get any kind of refund? (Not that it will help your hair.)

Sending you a hug,
tp

I'm not really a huge hair product person, but I will say this. I've used Garnier shampoo and conditioner in the past, and it is by far the worst ever. It dries my hair out so much. I am not a fan of their product at all. Sorry about your hair. That would really piss me off.

I am so sorry that you are dealing with such bad effects from this product!

Thank you for warning us all- I definitely won't be trying it now.

I'm so sorry Megan. That really sucks. I heard it takes 7 washes for the effects to go away so maybe in another week your hair will be revived?

I'm so sorry that happened to your hair.

I tried the product out before I saw your posts on it- and it did the same thing to my hair. I have an appointment next week with my stylist who said we'll be trying a mask and trim for my hair to try and fix it. I've got my wedding in 5 months and have been purposely growing my hair out so I am slightly freaking out!

That is awful! I am so glad that I read this post as I was looking at trying it out this weekend! Not anymore!

Oh No! A friend of mine just tried this product last weekend and it did not last but 2.5 seconds in our Florida humidity. I hope this doesn't happen to her!

I will spread the word!

Megan, sorry to hear you had to experience these bad results first-hand. Thanks for sharing them with us so we don't have to go through the same thing.

In all honesty, Garnier Fructis style hair products have done wonders to my hair in the past (esp Curl construct). They made my hair shiny and frizz free and I haven't found anything similar to their mousse as of yet (and I've tried many).

If this new product is that bad, you should not only try to get your money back but also speak to their customer service representatives and let them know what happened (pictures from your blog would help I'm sure of it!) I doubt there is a single member of our gender who doesn't care about having healthy, shiny hair and the damage that has been done to you hasn't exactly been short term and cost-free (or stress-free for that matter).

I was this close to buying that product, and I am so glad I saw your review. What an awful product! I am sorry about your hair, but if nothing else you saved a lot of people the trouble.

OMG! I'm so sorry! You should definitely call them and write them and anything else you can do to make yourself heard! That is ridiculous that they market and promote a product and THIS is what it does. Yikes! I hope things get better for your hair!
